Art doesn't belong in one place

The Nomad Art Prize is an international award for visual arts that celebrates the dialogue between artistic creation and the places that inspire it. Founded on the belief that art is inherently nomadic — moving across borders, cultures, and contexts — the prize seeks to discover 8 artists whose work embodies this spirit of movement.

Each edition takes place in a different city, creating a shifting geography of contemporary art. For 2026, Lisbon — with its layered history, maritime heritage, and vibrant creative scene — serves as both backdrop and muse.

Selected artists will present their work in a curated group exhibition, accompanied by a catalogue and critical essays. The prize is not just an award — it's an invitation to participate in a living conversation between art and place.
