About the work

Artist Karin Louise Title Dance through time 100 x 100cm oil on canvas Dance Through Time is a meditation on the nomadic nature of the human spirit that explores our enduring search for belonging across time and place. Women carrying light move between ancient stones as though travelling through memory, imagination and time itself. The painting reflects on our longing to know where we have come from, who we have loved across generations, and where our spirit may journey after this life. In an increasingly disconnected world, it asks what has become of the rituals that once helped people belong to one another, to place and to the cosmos. Through symbolic movement and shared ceremony, the work imagines belonging as something that transcends both geography and time.
